The wide Cedar Slat offers a larger profile. Measuring 94mm wide x 17mm, these slats provide a substantial presence, ideal for larger landscape projects or where a bold statement is desired. The wider profile also enhances the cedar’s warm natural tones.

The Interlocking Cedar Cladding Slat is a unique offering in our range measuring 61mm x 17mm with lengths of 1.8m and 2.1m available. Thanks to its interlocking profile, it provides complete privacy with no gaps. Despite the absence of gaps, it maintains the contemporary look of the other options with a 5mm shadow line.

This natural resilience is attributed to the oils and tannins present in cedar, which act as a natural barrier against outdoor elements. As a result, cedar will gradually transition to a silver-grey hue over time, a feature often appreciated for its aesthetic value. Applying a stain or sealant is an option for those who prefer preserving the cedar’s original reddish-brown shade. While this step isn’t necessary for the wood’s protection against decay, it aids in maintaining its colour and can also provide added UV protection.

Yes, our cedar slats are sustainably sourced. We use the highest quality Western Red Cedar sourced from credible and sustainable Canadian forests. These forests are certified by internationally recognised independent forest certification agencies such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).

How many cedar slats should I use to create a fence panel?

The number of cedar slats you’ll need depends on how big you’d like the gaps between each slat. For example, if you’re building a standard 6ft x 6ft (1.83m x 1.83m) fence panel, you will need 36 cedar slats when using the smaller 6mm gap. If you’re happy with slightly larger 12mm gaps, you will use 33 slats per panel.
