This section provides a simple insight into how customers can build their own slatted boundary using our range of 44mm and 94mm slats.
Using Our 44mm or 94mm slats
Step 1: Planning Your Fence
- Decide how high and long you want your fence.
- Calculate the number of slats you’ll need (allowing small gaps, usually around 6-12mm).
Step 2: Setting Up Posts
- Dig holes about 600mm deep where posts will go.
- Place the posts in holes, making sure they’re straight with a spirit level.
- Fill the holes with concrete mix, then let set overnight.
Step 2.1: Attaching To Brick
- Hold a bracket or batten against the wall, aligning it with the holes.
- Using your drill (with a screwdriver attachment), slowly screw into the wall plugs until firmly attached.
- Check with a spirit level to ensure it’s straight.
Step 3: Attaching Support Battens
- Screw vertical battens onto posts, about every 600mm along the fence length.
Step 4: Securing the Slats
- Starting from the top, attach slats horizontally to battens using screws.
- Use a small piece of wood (spacer) to keep gaps even between each slat.
Step 5: Finishing Off
Trim the ends of the slats neatly using a saw.
